# When Is the Time of Sealing? Ellen White taught that **the sealing is happening now, during the time while the four angels hold the four winds**, and it will be completed just before the close of probation. She wrote urgently: "The sealing time is very short, and will soon be over. Now is the time, while the four angels are holding the four winds, to make our calling and election sure" (
EW 58.2). ## The Sealing Occurs Before Probation Closes In vision, Ellen White saw that "Jesus would not leave the most holy place until every case was decided either for salvation or destruction" (
CET 100). She explained the sequence clearly: "Just before we entered it [the time of trouble], we all received the seal of the living God. Then I saw the four angels cease to hold the four winds" (
LDE 228). This shows that the sealing is completed before Jesus finishes His work in the heavenly sanctuary and before the seven last plagues begin. The sealing happens during a specific period of preparation. Ellen White emphasized: "Before the work is closed up and the sealing of God's people is finished, we shall receive the outpouring of the Spirit of God. Angels from heaven will be in our midst" (

Ellen White was emphatic about this: "Now is the time to prepare. The seal of God will never be placed upon the forehead of an impure man or woman. It will never be placed upon the forehead of the ambitious, world-loving man or woman. It will never be placed upon the forehead of men or women of false tongues or deceitful hearts. All who receive the seal must be without spot before God—candidates for heaven" (

She urged believers to live with constant awareness of this solemn reality: "Let the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ be in your minds continually and let them crowd out worldly thoughts and cares. When you lie down and when you rise up, let them be your meditation. Live and act wholly in reference to the coming of the Son of man" (
EW 58.2). ## The Present Urgency Ellen White's counsel carries a sense of immediacy: "The present is the fitting-up time for heaven, when we each must walk in full obedience to all the commandments of God" (
