"eating. Some eat too much at their meals, and some eat between meals whenever the temptation is presented. CT 297.3"
"Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:"
Both passages address overeating. Proverbs warns against being among 'riotous eaters,' while EGW speaks against eating too much at meals or between meals.
"All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any."
While not a direct quote, the principle of not being brought under the power of anything (as stated in 1 Corinthians 6:12) can be applied to overeating and the temptation to eat. EGW's statement about eating habits relates to this principle of self-control.
