"And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king’s business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it."
Both passages describe a prophet's reaction to a powerful vision. Daniel is astonished and sick, while Ellen White is overwhelmed and unable to recall specific details. The parallel lies in the intense impact of the vision on the individual.

The EGW passage directly references the 2300-year period mentioned in Daniel 8:14, making it a clear and intentional allusion.
"Page 21 : Mesmerism .—In order to justify their opposition, some early enemies of the visions suggested that Ellen White's experience was brought about through mesmerism, a phenomenon known today as hypnosis. Hypnosis is a state resembling sleep, induced through the power of suggestion, the hypnotized subject being in rapport with the one inducing the state and responsive to his suggestions. When, however, as Mrs. White here reports, a mesmerizing physician attempted to hypnotize her, he was helpless in her presence. EW 298.6"
"And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour."
Both passages deal with a spiritual influence or power exerted over an individual. In Acts, it's an evil spirit; in EGW, it's mesmerism. The common thread is the idea of an external force attempting to control or influence someone, and a resistance to that force.

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
The principle of a 'sound mind' in 2 Timothy 1:7 directly relates to the warning against one mind controlling another. The EGW passage warns against the dangers of hypnosis, where one mind controls another, which is the opposite of a sound, self-controlled mind.
