"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."
Both passages connect a lack of knowledge to negative consequences. Hosea 4:6 speaks of destruction due to a lack of knowledge of God's law, while EGW speaks of physical and developmental problems due to a lack of knowledge about child care. The thematic parallel is the destructive power of ignorance.
