"trouble succeeding another as in a moment. It is God that shields His creatures and hedges them in from the power of the destroyer. But the Christian world have shown contempt for the law of Jehovah; and the Lord will do just what He has declared that He would—He will withdraw His blessings from the earth and remove His protecting care from those who are rebelling against His law and teaching and forcing others to do the same. Satan has control of all whom God does not especially guard. He will favor and prosper some in order to further his own designs, and he will bring trouble upon others and lead men to believe that it is God who is afflicting them. GC 589.2"
"But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:"
The EGW passage directly echoes the principle of Deuteronomy 28:15, which states that disobedience to God's commandments will result in curses and the withdrawal of blessings. EGW applies this principle to the Christian world's contempt for the law of Jehovah.
"He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler."
Both passages speak of God's protection and shielding of His people. However, the EGW passage focuses on the withdrawal of that protection due to disobedience, while the Psalm focuses on the comfort and security found under God's wings. The connection is thematic but not strong.

The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.” Isaiah 24:4, 5 . GC 589.3"
"And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it."
The EGW passage describes Satan's role in bringing about calamities and disasters, while Luke 4:6 states that the devil has power over the kingdoms of the world and can give them to whomever he wills.
