"At the settlement of Israel in Canaan, the land was divided among the whole people, the Levites only, as ministers of the sanctuary, being excepted from the equal distribution. The tribes were numbered by families, and to each family, according to its numbers, was apportioned an inheritance. MH 184.1"

The EGW passage directly reflects the principle outlined in Numbers 26:53 regarding the division of land based on population size.

The EGW passage is a clear restatement of the principle of land redemption as described in Leviticus 25:25.
"And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family."
The EGW passage directly reflects the principle of the Year of Jubilee and the return of land to its original owner, as described in Leviticus 25:10.
