"The Lord hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together."
Both passages discuss the impending destruction of Zion/Jerusalem and the questioning of God's faithfulness in the face of suffering. While EGW doesn't directly quote Lamentations 2:8, the themes of destruction and questioning God's purpose are present in both.
