At first I thought I saw two trees; I looked again, and saw that they were united at the top in one tree. So it was the tree of life on either side of the river of life. "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb."
The EGW passage directly references and expands upon the imagery of the river of water proceeding from the throne of God, as described in Revelation 22:1. The shared elements are too specific to be coincidental.
"In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations."
