It is true that some who buy the books will lay them on the shelf or place them on the parlor table and seldom look at them. Still God has a care for His truth, and the time will come when these books will be sought for and read. Sickness or misfortune may enter the home, and through the truth contained in the books God sends to troubled hearts peace and hope and rest. His love is revealed to them, and they understand the preciousness of the forgiveness of their sins. Thus the Lord co-operates with His self-denying workers. 6T 313.3 There are many, who, because of prejudice, will never know the truth unless it is brought to their homes. "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
The EGW passage describes how books containing truth can impact people's lives and bring them to God, which aligns with the idea in Hebrews 4:12 that the word of God is powerful and can discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.
"Let the canvasser remember that he has an opportunity to sow beside all waters. God will be with everyone who seeks to understand the truth that he may set it before others in clear lines. God has spoken plainly and clearly. “The Spirit and the bride say, Come. "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."
EGW directly quotes Revelation 22:17 and applies it to the work of canvassers, urging them to share the message of truth.
Related principle 90% Matthew 5:16
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
While not a direct quote, the idea of letting one's light shine through good works (selling books with truth) to glorify God is a clear parallel to Matthew 5:16.
