The EGW passage explicitly mentions 'the live coal of pardon was placed upon their lips,' which is a direct and unmistakable reference to Isaiah 6:6-7. The context of pardon and cleansing from sin is also shared.

The phrase 'called us out of darkness into His marvelous light' is a direct quote from 1 Peter 2:9. The EGW passage uses this phrase in a similar context, describing the purpose of Christian education.
