"Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ."
Both passages highlight the importance of bearing one another's burdens. Galatians 6:2 explicitly commands believers to 'bear ye one another's burdens,' while the EGW passage describes the true shepherd as 'co-operating with the great Burden-bearer' and sharing in the afflictions of others. The principle of mutual support and empathy is central to both.
"But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd."
Both passages describe the compassion and care a shepherd (or minister) should have for their flock. Matthew 9:36 describes Jesus' compassion for the scattered multitudes, while the EGW passage details the self-forgetfulness of a true shepherd who ministers to the needs, sorrows, and trials of the people.
"***** In our work, individual effort will accomplish much more than can be estimated. It is for the want of this that souls are perishing. One soul is of infinite value; Calvary speaks its worth. One soul won to Christ, will be instrumental in winning others, and there will be an ever-increasing result of blessing and salvation. GW 184.3"
"Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish."
Both passages highlight the value of a single soul. EGW emphasizes that "one soul is of infinite value" and that winning one soul can lead to further conversions. Matthew 18:14 states that it is not God's will that even one "little one" should perish.
