Ellen White directly references John 4:7-30 in this passage.
"The result of the work of Jesus, as He sat, weary and hungry, at the well, was wide-spread in blessing. The one soul whom He sought to help became a means of reaching others and bringing them to the Saviour. This is ever the way that the work of God has made progress on the earth. Let your light shine, and other lights will be kindled. GW 195.3"
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
The EGW passage directly states 'Let your light shine, and other lights will be kindled,' which is a clear echo of the principle in Matthew 5:16 about letting your light shine.
"And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did."
Both passages highlight how the woman at the well's testimony led others to believe in Jesus. The EGW passage generalizes this to the way God's work progresses, while John 4:39 specifically mentions the Samaritans believing because of her testimony.
