How to overcome lust
Based on the writings of Ellen White, overcoming lust involves a combination of divine power and personal effort. Victory is possible for everyone who chooses to align their will with God's. Here are the key principles for gaining victory: ### 1. Unite Your Will with God's Power A fundamental step is to surrender your will to God. While human effort alone is insufficient, God requires your cooperation. > "Through the right exercise of the will, an entire change may be made in the life. By yielding up the will to Christ, we ally ourselves with divine power. We receive strength from above to hold us steadfast. A pure and noble life, a life of victory over appetite and lust, is possible to everyone who will unite his weak, wavering human will to the omnipotent, unwavering will of God." (MH 176.3) ### 2. Actively Resist Temptation You are called to actively fight against impure thoughts and desires. This involves a conscious decision to turn away from sin and cry out for divine help. > "When assailed by temptation, steadfastly resist the evil promptings; say to your soul, 'How can I dishonor my Redeemer? I have given myself to Christ; I cannot do the works of Satan.' Cry to the dear Saviour for help to sacrifice every idol and to put away every darling sin." (SL 90) ### 3. Practice Temperance in All Things Controlling physical appetites is directly linked to gaining strength over passions. A temperate lifestyle weakens the power of the lower nature. > "You need to exercise temperance in all things. Cultivate the higher powers of the mind, and there will be less strength of growth of the animal. It is impossible for you to increase in spiritual strength while your appetite and passions are not under perfect control." (2T 413.2) > "Every perverted appetite becomes a warring lust." (4T 215.1) ### 4. Control Your Thoughts Victory begins in the mind. It is essential to guard your thoughts and focus them on spiritual things. > "The thoughts must be centered upon God. We must put forth earnest effort to overcome the evil tendencies of the natural heart. Our efforts, our self-denial and perseverance, must be proportionate to the infinite value of the object of which we are in pursuit." (MH 455.2) ### 5. Do Not Be Discouraged by Failure Past failures do not mean you are destined to be defeated. God offers strength to overcome, no matter how many times you may have fallen in the past. > "Feeling the terrible power of temptation, the drawing of desire that leads to indulgence, many a man cries in despair, 'I cannot resist evil.' Tell him that he can, that he must resist. He may have been overcome again and again, but it need not be always thus. He is weak in moral power, controlled by the habits of a life of sin... But he need not despair." (MH 174.6) ### 6. Pray for the Power of the Holy Spirit True transformation comes from the work of the Holy Spirit on the heart. Earnest prayer is essential to receive this divine power. > "Pray that the mighty energies of the Holy Spirit, with all their quickening, recuperative, and transforming power, may fall like an electric shock on the palsy-stricken soul, causing every nerve to thrill with new life, restoring the whole man from his dead, earthly, sensual state to spiritual soundness." (5T 267.2)
Okay so we can’t see the Lord, we can’t see Angels, so who will we see when we in Heaven? Will we then be able to see them not the Lord but Angels and Jesus

In the heavenly kingdom, the limitations of our current physical sight will be removed, allowing for a direct and personal encounter with the divine. While we currently perceive God's character indirectly through nature and His providential dealings, the future reality involves standing in His literal presence. This transition is described as moving from seeing a dim reflection to a clear, face-to-face experience where we will behold the glory of His countenance without any veil between us (Hvn 141.1). The greatest joy of the redeemed in heaven is the privilege of looking upon the face of God and recognizing Him as a Father. This open communion with the Father and the Son is the very essence of heavenly happiness (9MR 124.1). Because Christ took His glorified humanity with Him to the heavenly courts, those who have been loyal to Him will be able to see His face and dwell with Him throughout eternity (9MR 124.1).

This direct access to the Father and the Son replaces the need for a physical temple, as they themselves are the temple of the New Jerusalem (4SP 491.2).

Furthermore, the restoration of the link between heaven and earth through Christ's merits ensures that the communion with heavenly beings is fully realized. While sin once created a gulf that prevented direct interaction, Christ has bridged that gap, allowing for communion with ministering angels (SC 20.1). In the future state, the people of God will no longer see "through a glass, darkly," but will instead enjoy a full and unhindered fellowship with the Father, the Son, and the angelic host (IC 42.6).
