"He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not."
The phrase 'Man of Sorrows, who was acquainted with grief' is a direct quote from Isaiah 53:3, making this an explicit allusion.

Matthew 16:24 calls for self-denial to follow Jesus, which is the core of the EGW passage's lament about the young not denying themselves or sacrificing for their religion.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
EGW's statement about confessing sins to be pardoned and cleansed directly reflects the principle stated in 1 John 1:9.
"Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance."
Both passages discuss the idea that hidden sins are known to God and will be revealed. While not a direct quote, the theme is clearly present in both.
