EGW directly alludes to the Pharisee's prayer in Luke 18:11, using similar language to condemn self-righteousness and judging others.

EGW directly quotes and applies Hebrews 12:12 in her exhortation.
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Both passages share the theme of offering help and rest to those who are burdened and in need. EGW's call to 'come more in unison with Christ, pity the erring' echoes the invitation in Matthew 11:28.

You are also, my dear brother, frequently in danger of being tedious. Even in small meetings, your remarks are too lengthy. Every word of what you say may be true, but in order to find its way to the soul it should be accompanied with a fervor of spiritual power. What we say should be right to the point and not of sufficient length to weary the listeners, else the subject matter will find no lodgment in their hearts. 4T 131.4"

Both passages discuss the idea of working together with God. EGW speaks of being a 'colaborer' with angels, while 1 Corinthians 3:9 refers to being 'labourers together with God.'
