"And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."
The EGW passage directly references the sign of the Son of Man appearing in the clouds, which is a key element of Matthew 24:30. The description of the cloud and the Son of Man's appearance clearly alludes to this verse.
"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen."
Both passages describe Jesus coming with clouds and every eye seeing him. The wailing in Revelation is not explicitly present in the EGW passage, but the overall theme of Christ's return in the clouds is a strong parallel.
