"Laying Hold on God As I was thus thinking, a portion of the vision given me at Rochester, N. Y., Dec. 25, 1865, came like a flash of lightning to my mind, and I immediately related it to my husband: LS 175"
Related principle 75% Acts 10:19
"While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee."
Both passages involve recalling a vision. Peter was thinking on a vision when the Spirit spoke to him, and EGW recalled a vision in a moment of reflection. The parallel is thematic.
"I came home to Battle Creek like a weary child, who needed comforting words and encouragement. But on our return we met reports having no foundation in truth. We were humbled into the very dust, and distressed beyond expression. LS 175.3"
Related principle 90% Matthew 11:28
"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
The EGW passage describes a state of weariness and need for comfort, which aligns with the invitation to find rest in Matthew 11:28. The connection is more than superficial.
"In this state of things we started to fill an appointment at Monterey. On the journey I tried to explain to myself why it was that our brethren did not understand in regard to our work. I had felt quite sure that when we should meet them, they would know what spirit we were of, and that the Spirit of God in them would answer to the same in us, His humble servants, and there would be union of feeling and sentiment. Instead of this, we were distrusted and suspiciously watched, which was a cause of the greatest perplexity I ever experienced. LS 175.4"
Related principle 80% 1 Corinthians 2:14
"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
EGW's experience of being misunderstood and distrusted by brethren, despite her belief in their shared spiritual understanding, resonates with the concept of the 'natural man' not comprehending spiritual things in 1 Corinthians 2:14.
Possible connection 75% 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13
"And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves."
EGW's disappointment at not being esteemed and understood by her brethren connects to the exhortation in 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 to recognize and highly esteem those who labor among them. The connection is plausible, though not definitive.
